Smartphone Features Google Tango, Secure Authentication, High-Performance Touch
SAN JOSE, Calif., and CES LAS VEGAS, Jan. 05, 2017 -- Synaptics Incorporated (NASDAQ:SYNA), the leading developer of human interface solutions, today announced its Natural ID™ fingerprint sensors and ClearPad® touchscreen controllers are featured on the new ASUS ZenFone AR smartphone. The ZenFone AR is the industry’s first Google Tango enabled and Daydream-ready smartphone and built for augmented reality. ASUS selected Synaptics for its one-touch secure fingerprint authentication and high-performance touchscreen features.
Synaptics® ClearPad® touchscreen controllers deliver high-performance multi-finger touch and innovative features such as grip and palm suppression, and low-power wake-up gestures. The controller also integrates Synaptics’ advanced analog touch-sensing circuitry and algorithms to address noise generated by displays that feature very high resolution, such as the 5.7-inch WQHD Super AMOLED display used in the ZenFone AR smartphone.
Synaptics’ high-performance Natural ID™ fingerprint sensors are available with SentryPoint™ technology, offering OEMs a wide-range of unique and highly secure authentication features including match-in-sensor technology, Quantum Matcher™ with PurePrint™ anti-spoof technology, and SecureLink™ 256-bit AES with TLS 1.2 encryption.
“We are very excited about the newly launched ASUS ZenFone AR, the world’s first Tango enabled and Daydream-ready smartphone. The ZenFone AR was built for augmented reality, and thanks to Synaptics, adding high-performance touch, and the convenience and security of fingerprint biometrics was an important upgrade,” said Rangoon Chang, ASUS General Manager, Mobile Computing Business Unit, ASUS.
“ASUS is an innovative leader and Synaptics is honored to be featured on their new ZenFone AR smartphones. We look forward to working together on future projects and help to deliver high-performance touch and display solutions, and convenient, highly secure biometric solutions for their customers,” said Anthony Gioeli, vice president of marketing, Biometrics Product Division, Synaptics.
