ANNAPOLIS, Md., Oct. 31, 2017 -- South River Technologies, Inc. (SRT) today announced that Cornerstone MFT is now available under a BYOL, or Bring Your Own License, model in Amazon Web Services' AWS Marketplace. This new development comes as a result of the growing interest in AWS for enterprise users.
According to Amazon, the number of active AWS users exceeds 1,000,000. In the past, small and mid-size companies made up the majority of the AWS user base, but recent research suggests that enterprise-scale users make up at least 10% of that total.
“Flexibility is an important requirement for businesses. Cloud solutions provide significant benefits, but companies are concerned about being locked into a single solution,” says Michael Ryan, CEO of SRT. “Offering a BYOL option, in addition to the cloud-based MFT solutions that we’ve offered since 2014, gives businesses flexibility and choices to suit their specific needs.”
Customers who purchase this license type benefit from moving the capital expense of procuring server hardware into a manageable, monthly operations expense. New server hardware can cost between six thousand and 10 thousand dollars per machine. Additionally, there is no need for Windows or other time-consuming upgrades, and no need to worry about server lifespan and related future expenses.
This license also provides the benefits of portability. If users decide to move to another cloud service or on-premise implementation, they can simply take their license with them, and use it in their new environment. Standard pay-as-you-go models do not provide this level of flexibility.
