HARTSVILLE, S.C., April 07, 2016 -- Sonoco (NYSE:SON), one of the largest diversified global packaging companies, announced its display and packaging division won four honors at the Point of Purchase Advertising International’s (POPAI) 58th Outstanding Merchandising Achievement (OMA) Awards competition. The OMA competition honors the most innovative and effective in-store displays, which are recognized for lifting sales and making products memorable and enticing to shoppers.
Sonoco's four OMA awards included:
- Gold award, temporary division, drug store retailer category – Chattem, Inc. Allegra® | Nasacort® Allergy Relief Tree
- Silver award, semi-permanent division, drug store retailer category – InComm Inc. | Rite Aid 2015 Holiday Fireplace Floorstand
- Bronze award, temporary division, convenience store retailer category – Chattem, Inc. Rolaids® Giant Roll Skinny Tower
- Bronze award, temporary division, club store retailer category – Sam’s Club Duraglide 6™ Launch Campaign Tray

This year’s competition consisted of 27 categories, each with three subcategories. The award-winning displays had the highest scores in design, innovation, interactivity and proven ability to lift sales.
