PHOENIX, March 01, 2017 -- Today, solar industry representatives, Arizona Public Service Electric Company (APS), and other stakeholders filed a rate design settlement with the Arizona Corporation Commission (ACC).
In response, Anne Hoskins, Chief Policy Officer at Sunrun, issued the following statement:
“The joint agreement between the solar industry, APS, and other stakeholders is more proof that rooftop solar is inevitable. Sunrun will stand by the terms of the settlement agreement and plans to provide Arizonans with access to rooftop solar, even though the settlement does not fully recognize the multitude of benefits that rooftop solar brings to all Arizonans.
“As recent research confirms, rooftop solar power can deliver benefits above the retail rate of electricity and provides opportunities to all customers through grid modernization, local jobs, and affordable clean energy choices.
"While Arizona does not serve as a model to encourage innovation in distributed energy, we are pleased that, together, we have ended years of debate on the future of rooftop solar policy in Arizona.”
