The rumors regarding the release date of iPad Air 3 have once again come to the forefront. Recent reports suggest that the device might be released early next year.
According to a Chinese tech website MyDrivers, the Apple iPad Air 3 will launch in March 2016. Earlier reports suggested that that the new tablet would be released in September this year. However, the postponement of its release date is perhaps to avoid overwhelming the customers with so many variants of iPad, Yibada reported.
MyDrivers lists the specifications of Air 3:
- 9.7-inch display screen with 4k-level pixel density resolution 3112x2334 (401 PPI)
- A9X processor
- 16/64/128 GB storage options
- Rear camera 8 MP, front camera 2.1 MP
iPadAir3Update says as the new device will support the latest features like split screen, music streaming and much more, it is going to come with a more powerful battery. Moreover, customers will likely have three color variants to choose from: Gold, Silver and Grey.
Regarding price, ItPro says that keeping in mind that the iPad Air came with a price tag if around £399 for the entry level model at launch, “it is unlikely the iPad Air 3 will be any different - providing, that is, that there's still a 16GB version. However, if the entry level jumps to 32GB, the starting price could be a little over £400.”
