Fans have been eagerly anticipating the release of a gameplay video of “Red Dead Redemption 2” for a long time and their wishes are about to come true. Rockstar Games has announced that it will be providing satisfaction at last on Aug. 9 at 11 a.m. ET. That’s tomorrow for anyone who isn’t keeping track.
This development came via the official Twitter account of Rockstar Games, which announced the schedule. Along with the time and date of the gameplay trailer’s release for “Red Dead Redemption 2,” the post also comes with an image conveying the same message.

This is the first real look that fans of the series will get of how the upcoming Wester shooter will play. The first game in the franchise has since become a video game classic in large part thanks to the excellent gameplay. The shooting was slick, the movement was smooth, and riding horses through the desert proved to be a blast. “Red Dead Redemption 2” is expected to improve on all of this.
For the longest time, however, Rockstar chose to keep a lot of the details about the game close to its chest, GameSpot points. This is fairly typical of the developers, but it has left some fans feeling disgruntled since gameplay footage is how a lot of them make their shopping decisions. Even so, there’s no doubt that “Red Dead Redemption 2” is going to be printing money for the developers.
The only question now is whether or not it’s going to surpass Rockstar’s most successful title yet, “Grand Theft Auto V: San Andreas,” and the answer is that it’s unlikely. Selling 100 million copies of any game is a rare feat. As popular as “Red Dead Redemption 2” will undoubtedly be once it launches on Oct. 26, analysts are already predicting that it won’t hit those same numbers.
