WICHITA, Kan., Oct. 13, 2016 -- KLAS, a research and insights firm aiming to improve healthcare delivery, released a 2016 Ambulatory Billing Services Study today ranking several vendors who provide Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) services to both small and large practices. In the small practice space (one to 10 physicians), Pulse Systems was named a “top performing vendor.”

“RCM is a growing space and a major focus for Pulse. We see that rising healthcare expenditures along with complex technology and staffing requirements under value-based care are driving more and more physician practices to outsource this critical function of their business,” said Chris Walls, president and chief executive officer of Pulse Systems. “One thing that sets us apart from our competitors is we can cater our RCM Services to a practice’s individual needs, whether that is full-scope billing and collections or even what system they work off of.”
In the Ambulatory Billing Services Report, KLAS found that just two-thirds of practices who have adopted RCM services have found them to be worth the investment and has improved their efficiency.
According to a Pulse client and Office Manager interviewed in the report, “Pulse definitely gets an A+. They seem to be on top of everything. They helped with our transition to their services really well. They helped me with all of the forms and things that we needed for electronic filing. They have just given me a lot of guidance, whereas the other company almost kept me in the dark.”
Four critical factors influence a provider’s experience with their RCM services vendor: (1) transparency into billing/financial operations, (2) quality of vendor guidance, (3) effectiveness of account management, and (4) quality of denials and rejection management. Pulse’s service area rankings were far above the market average for ambulatory practices:

“Practices are always amazed by the potential of increased revenue they can realize by outsourcing their billings and collections to Pulse. Before signing any contract, we can take a hard look at your financials and show exactly where you can improve to earn your money faster,” said Chris Walls.
Each year, KLAS interviews thousands of healthcare professionals about the vendor products and services their organizations use. These interviews are conducted using a standard quantitative evaluation, and the scores and commentary collected are shared online in real time so that other providers and IT professionals can benefit from their peers’ experience. To supplement the data gathered with this standard evaluation, KLAS also creates various supplemental evaluations that target a subset of KLAS’ overall sampling and delve deeper into the most pressing questions facing healthcare technology today.
