Salt Lake City, Nov. 09, 2017 -- PRMI team members donated more than 200 volunteer hours to help build homes for Utah families. Thirty employees lent their hands to the Salt Lake Valley Habitat for Humanity to build two homes in Kearns, Utah, for the first of its kind, “Field of Dreams-Eco Community” housing project.

The “Field of Dreams-Eco Community” homes were developed by the nonprofit organization and the University of Utah. These houses are 1,500-square-feet and extremely energy efficient with only $1.50 per day in energy costs. The Salt Lake County has approved twenty homes to be built in the new development.
“Working side-by-side with the future homeowner and our team members was truly a one-of-a-kind experience and I am so thankful to the Salt Lake Valley Habitat for Humanity for the opportunity,” said Tom George, Chief Operating Officer at PRMI who presented its annual check of $3,000 to the organization. “As a local mortgage lender, we know just how special it is to move into a home and hope this family can move in sooner because of the volunteers who helped on this project.”
Through volunteer labor and donations of money and materials, Habitat for Humanity builds and rehabilitates simple and affordable homes. Recent surveys show nearly one-in-four households in the U.S. pays more than 30 percent of their income on housing, making it difficult to afford necessities such as food, clothing, or medical care. Stable housing is foundational to build self-reliance, stability, and quality of life.
“Building a dream home for low-income families in need would not happen without the generosity of companies that take a stake hold in making our community stronger,” said Edward Blake, CEO of Salt Lake Valley Habitat for Humanity. “Primary Residential Mortgage is an example of this community commitment and we thank them for their time and monetary donation that will help even more Utah families.”
