Chrissy Teigen has once again taken aim at former President Donald Trump, this time poking fun at his inability to correctly pronounce Vice President Kamala Harris’ name. The 38-year-old model and television personality made her feelings known in a series of Instagram posts on Thursday, August 22, shortly after Trump’s remarks about Harris during her Democratic nomination acceptance speech.
Teigen shared a video on her Instagram Story where she is seen encouraging her 1-year-old daughter, Esti, to say the vice president’s name. The toddler successfully repeats “Ka-ma-la,” prompting Teigen to excitedly cheer her on. In a playful dig at the former president, Teigen captioned the clip with, “@realdonaldtrump my 1-year-old can say it.”
The online banter didn’t stop there. Teigen followed up with another post later that evening, sharing a screenshot of Trump’s Truth Social posts in which he ranted about Harris’ speech at the Democratic National Convention (DNC). Alongside the screenshot, she added the comment, “F----- spiraling lmao,” suggesting that Trump appeared to be unraveling in real-time.
This isn’t the first time Teigen and Trump have clashed. The two have a history of trading barbs on social media, dating back to when Trump referred to Teigen’s husband, singer John Legend, as a “boring musician” in 2019. Teigen famously responded by calling Trump a “p---- a-- b----,” a tweet that the former president reportedly attempted to have removed from the platform. The tweet was never deleted, and Teigen later admitted that Trump’s request to have it taken down was one of her “career highlights.”
Despite the humor she finds in these exchanges, Teigen has also expressed concern about the potential consequences of her public feud with Trump, especially if he were to win the 2024 election. Speaking at an event, she noted that while it was amusing to know Trump was aware of her, it was also a bit unsettling, considering his unpredictable behavior.
As someone who has become more politically vocal over the years, Teigen is mindful of how her outspoken views could impact her various business ventures. With the success of her Cravings brand and other business endeavors, she recognizes that her public statements could have repercussions. Teigen mentioned that she’s aware of the fine line she walks, noting that grocery stores, for example, might be hesitant to carry her products if her political views stir up controversy.
Nevertheless, Teigen and Legend have been vocal in their support of Vice President Harris, with Legend even performing at the DNC. As the political landscape continues to heat up, it’s clear that Teigen isn’t shying away from using her platform to speak her mind—whether it’s mocking a former president or advocating for the issues she cares about.
