News reports about the PlayStation 5 are never-ending, with plenty of speculations with regards to its features and potential release date dominating community discussions. However, thanks to recent reports about developer kits being provided by Sony, it would seem that the next generation console is close to hitting the market. In fact, it has been suggested that the company is putting in a lot of time and money into the game box.
As GamesRadar reports, a recent post on ResetEra by Daniel Ahmad has set the internet buzzing with regards to when the PlayStation 5 would be coming out. As a known industry analyst, he even went as far as to state that a majority of the first-party developers of Sony are now focusing on the new console. Specifically, it is suggested that the company’s studios are putting in a lot of their attention into either creating new IPs for the upcoming platform or making existing IPs cross-generational.
"Sony also has a couple of unannounced games (already existing IP) with PS4 in mind," Ahmad’s post reads. "But I'm conscious that there have been discussions around making them cross-gen/next-gen titles."
This makes a lot of sense and ties in with what many other analysts have been saying about the PlayStation 5. With the PS4 coming to the end of its run as Sony’s premier console, it would only be natural that it would start giving out development kits that are geared towards the new console. At least, this is what many supposed industry insiders have been suggesting.
With this being the case, it’s quite possible for the PlayStation 5 to be announced very soon. From there, the console can then proceed to hit the market and it could happen as soon as 2021. This is what speculations from various analysts and reports have concluded, thus far.
