When is the PlayStation 5 coming out? That is probably one of the most frequently asked questions from gamers in the past couple of years. As of the moment, nobody knows for sure, but it looks like Sony may already be making preparations for the new console’s marketing campaign.
A Sony job posting on LinkedIn has revealed that they are searching for a senior product manager who can help them market the “next generation PlayStation.” The company has edited the posting since it first came out, but several publications managed to catch the slip before it was removed.
“At PlayStation we are working at the frontiers of immersive experiences for our users. We are looking for an entrepreneurial Product Lead to join our Intelligence Platform Group. As part of this hands-on position you would work across Partners, Product and Engineering and contribute to development and growth of PlayStation Intelligence Platform. You will own the roadmap for next generation PlayStation campaign,” the listing reads, via Wccftech.
Is this next generation console the PlayStation 5? Because it sounds like they are gearing up for a marketing campaign in the coming months. This shouldn’t come as a surprise for people who have been following the news. Earlier this month, Sony president Kenichiro Yoshida also told the Financial Times that they were planning to release a next-generation PlayStation, but he refused to call the console the PlayStation 5. “At this point, what I can say is it’s necessary to have a next-generation hardware,” Yoshida said in the interview, via Gematsu.
Well, it’s safe to say that gamers probably won’t see the PlayStation 5 until 2020 at the earliest, although some publications believe there is chance it will come out in late 2019. In any case, tech enthusiasts are expecting the PlayStation 5 to become the lead platform for 4K gaming once it comes out.
