LOS ANGELES, Dec. 12, 2016 -- The Palisades Group, LLC, (the “Company” or “Palisades”) announced today the promotions of Justin Bodiya to Chief Operating Officer and Sally Kawana to Chief Financial Officer of the Company, effective December 5, 2016. Mr. Bodiya has more than 10 years of experience in enterprise architecture, technology, and asset management, most recently serving as Palisades’ Head of Operations and as a Director in the Portfolio Management group since 2013. Ms. Kawana has more than 20 years of experience in public accounting, investment banking and structured finance, most recently serving as Palisades’ Head of Capital Markets and Transaction Management since 2013.

“Sally has led all financing and capital markets activities at Palisades since 2013 including over 70 residential whole loan purchases and sales along with multiple client securitizations,” said Jack Macdowell, Co-Founder and Chief Investment Officer of the Company. “Sally has led the team that has successfully enhanced value for our client capital through efficiently executing transactions and securing optimal financing for portfolios of non-performing, sub-performing and re-performing residential mortgage loans. We are excited to have her transition transaction management responsibilities to her capable team, while continuing to manage client and investment vehicle financing duties and assuming leadership for Palisades’ corporate finance initiatives.”
Mr. Bodiya, prior to Palisades, was the Vice President of Asset Management at Arch Bay Capital, LLC, where he managed a $500 million non-performing whole loan portfolio. His responsibilities included portfolio performance, implementing disposition- and cost savings-strategies, establishing key vendor relationships, as well as creating proprietary reporting and software solutions. Prior to Arch Bay Capital, Mr. Bodiya held multiple positions in the Portfolio Reporting and Management Group at American Capital Strategies focusing on investment performance transparency and management solutions. Mr. Bodiya earned his AB in Psychology with a Markets and Management Certificate from Duke University.
Ms. Kawana, prior to Palisades, was a Senior Vice President in the Representations and Warranties Group at Bank of America where she focused on strategies related to the resolution of legacy mortgage related liabilities. While at Bank of America, she also held the position of Senior Vice President in Bank of America’s Secondary Marketing Group where she served as the group’s business finance partner. She was also responsible for managing the delivery of residential mortgages into the Bank’s proprietary credit guarantee facilities with the GSEs. Prior to Bank of America, Ms. Kawana was a Managing Director in Bear Stearns’ Mortgage and Asset-Backed Securities Group. While at Bear Stearns, she underwrote, structured and placed in excess of $25 billion of mortgage and asset-backed securities collateralized by residential mortgage loans, including pioneering the re-insurance of mortgage insurance risk in the capital markets. Prior to Bear Stearns, Ms. Kawana worked in KPMG’s Financial Services Audit and Structured Finance Consulting practices. She specialized in providing audit, due diligence, attestation and consulting services to financial institutions including banks, thrifts, mortgage companies, specialty finance companies and REITs. Ms. Kawana earned her BS in Business Administration from California State University, Los Angeles and is a Certified Public Accountant (inactive) in California.
