‘Now You See Me 3’ plot, cast speculations: Why Lula May needs to return for the third movie

The addition of Lula May (Lizzy Caplan) was a nice touch for the second film, but there could have been more scenes of her showcasing her skills as an illusionist and a master of misdirection. This just gives fans more reason to look forward to her return in “Now You See Me 3.”

Now You See Me 3’ plot, cast

Four Horsemen resolved the conflict presented to them in the second movie. This leaves fans practically clueless to what could happen in “Now You See Me 3.” Whatever the next challenge could be, Caplan is very likely to reprise her role being a member of the Four Horsemen and now that they are officially part of the Eye.

It should be noted, though, that Lula had some chances to show her mastery of misdirection in the earlier parts of the second movie. However, she did not have much opportunity to perform during the Four Horsemen’s biggest show in the sequel. Her performance was even cut midway, unlike the three original members of the group.

Luckily, there is still a good chance that “Now You See Me 3” would be released in the future. Hopefully, the plot would then be written in a way that allows Lula’s character and talent to shine beyond her funny banters and her blossoming romantic relationship with Jack Wilder (Dave Franco).

A report surfaced earlier this year claiming that, aside from Caplan and Franco, the main cast members from the first and second movies have been contacted by Lionsgate for the making of “Now You See Me 3.” The same report mentioned Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Mark Ruffalo, Morgan Freeman, and Michael Caine.

Now You See Me 3’ release date

A more recent interview of Eisenberg, however, seems to debunk the said report. “I hear occasionally from my friends, the other actors in the movies, that ‘Oh, I’ve heard something’ and I go ‘Oh really? What’d you hear?’, but all we’ve got is ‘Oh, I hear they’re still working on it,'” Eisenberg said when ComingSoon.net asked for an update on “Now You See Me 3.”

Lionsgate has yet to announce that the “Now You See Me 3” project has been canceled, so there is still a good chance for the third movie to become a reality. Even if an update is provided in 2020, fans may have to wait as much as a couple of years to see the third film arrive in theaters.
