Nathan’s Famous to begin selling vegan hot dogs in 13 US stores

Meatless Farm has been producing the "gourmet" 100-percent plant-based dog since April, using Nathan's recipe.

The Nathan's Hot Dog will begin serving vegan hot dogs at 13 locations across New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut, including at its Coney Island flagship.

Meatless Farm has been producing the "gourmet" 100-percent plant-based dog since April, using Nathan's recipe.

That same month, Nathan's began selling the product exclusively through its online Shopify store at $44.99 for a six-pack with buns and mustard or $39.99 for a 12-pack of veggie dogs only.

James Walker, SVP of restaurants for Nathan's, said the product was created not just for their vegan, vegetarian, and flexitarian customers, but everyone looking for a healthier diet.

Meanwhile, Morten Toft Bech, founder of Meatless Farm, stated that they were excited to be turning an American favorite like Nathan's Hot Dog into a Meatless favorite.

A Nathan's Famous spokesperson says the goal is to continue to roll out these meatless hot dogs to other locations in the future.
