‘NCIS’ Season 17 Episode 13 spoilers: Team’s investigation hits a snag as evidence lost in a blast

NCIS / Facebook

In “NCIS” Season 17 Episode 13, the team will face a case that’s a bit tricky to solve. The problem, it appears, is that all evidence that might point to the perpetrator has been blasted to smithereens.

The case starts after a body is discovering at a weapons testing site. The team will become involved and will be tasked to determine if the incident was just an accident or if it was something else.

Thankfully, a brief “NCIS” Season 17 episode 13 promo is already available. While the conversations and scenes contained in the trailer are a bit limited, they’re still able to give fans a few details on what might be up ahead.

“Got a dead body at Quantico,” Gibbs announces as he enters into the office. Quantico is located in Virginia, where the headquarters of the Naval Criminal Investigative Services (NCIS), Marine Corps, the Air Force Office of Special Investigations and the FBI Academy are located, according to Bustle.

But things quickly get complicated as the incident may involve more secretive units of the U.S. military. “The accident might involve a top-secret weapons program,” Agent Bishop explained. However, it appears that Gibbs isn’t quite convinced that the incident was merely an accident.

Torres was likely dispatched to investigate leads. Eventually, his investigations will lead him to the discovery of boxes of weapons. Something seems up as Torres can be seen frowning upon his discovery.

The team is later shown reviewing video footage of the weapons testing. In addition, the team went to the actual testing site to see what clues and evidence they might come up with.

Unfortunately, the team would come up with nothing. It appears that whoever committed the crime did a good job of cleaning up after the deed.

“Any evidence that could have been given me a clue was…” Palmer hopefully tried to pry more information from Gibbs. “Lost in the blast,” was the latter’s terse response.

Meanwhile, “NCIS” Season 17 episode 13 will put one character into the spotlight, according to CarterMatt. This time, the episode “Sound Off” will focus on Jimmy Palmer, who is played by Brian Deitzen, who will have to decide if he should seek help or not.

“After a body is found at an unmanned aerial vehicle testing site, the NCIS team must determine if the death was murder or an accident,” the synopsis for the next episode reads. “Also, Palmer carefully interviews medical examiner assistant candidates, on NCIS, Tuesday, Jan. 21 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.”
