Aside from gameplay improvements and rankings, fans are also excited to see who gets to be main featured athlete this year in the “NBA 2K20” cover. There are very few discussions up at this point, but the names of James Harden and Joel Embiid have already popped up in some online threads.
Players of the National Basketball Association are certainly focused on bringing their respective teams to the playoffs. Collecting some NBA awards along the way is also cool but another career highlight is to be chosen as the main cover athlete in “NBA 2K” titles. One of the common names appearing in “NBA 2K20” online discussions is Harden's and it is not hard to understand why.
The Houston Rockets shooting/point guard has also been in the running to become an NBA MVP awardee for several years including for 2018-19 season. So it is not surprising that fans think he could be a worthy cover athlete for “NBA 2K20.” It is important to note, however, that Harden has already been featured in the “NBA 2K16” cover but he had to share it with two other players namely Anthony Davis and Stephen Curry. 2K Games rarely brings back the same athlete for another main cover art gig so fans should take this with a pinch of salt.
Other fans think that players who have greatly contributed to bringing their team to the 2018-19 playoffs deserve to be on the main cover of “NBA 2K20.” And some fans deem Philadelphia’s Joel Embiid fits the bill.
“NBA 2K20” will most probably be released in fall, just like its predecessors. Also, based on the announcement in the previous years it might take until July for 2K Games to officially announce their pick for this year’s cover athlete.
What is a little bit more certain at this point is that 2K Games is finally bringing WNBA players to the video game. As previously reported, top players of the WNBA have somehow confirmed they will be joining this year’s roster, which is considered a major milestone for the franchise.
