Musikfest, Nation's Largest Free Music Festival, Announces Lineup for 35th Year Aug. 3-12

Bethlehem, PA, May 08, 2018 -- Jason Mraz, Brantley Gilbert, Jim Gaffigan, Kesha, Marc Broussard, Colony House, Marshall Crenshaw, Squirrel Nut Zippers, the Original Wailers, We are Scientists and !!! are among the nearly 400 performers taking the stage as part of the 35th edition of Musikfest, the nation’s largest free-admission music festival. The event, set for Aug. 3-12 in Bethlehem, Pa., will feature music at 16 of its 18 total venues, with more than 500 free music and art performances during its 10-day run. 

Artists performing at Musikfest’s Sands Steel Stage main stage this year include Trombone Shorty’s Voodoo Threauxdown Aug. 2 (special preview night concert), STYX and Joan Jett & the Blackhearts Aug. 3, Jim Gaffigan Aug. 5, Kesha Aug. 7, Brantley Gilbert Aug. 10 and Jason Mraz Aug. 12. The festival’s five additional Sands Steel Stage acts will be announced in the coming weeks.Highlighting the free performances at Musikfest are shows by Squirrel Nut Zippers Aug. 6 at the IBEW Local #375 Volksplatz stage, Marc Broussard Aug. 7 at the Air Products Americaplatz stage, The Original Wailers Aug. 11 at Volksplatz, Marshall Crenshaw Aug. 9 at Americaplatz and Colony House Aug. 11 at Americaplatz. Other acts confirmed to perform include electro-pop act GGOOLLDD Aug. 3, rising country artist Adam Doleac and country duo Walker McGuire Aug. 4, bluesman Eric Gales Aug. 8 and dance-punk band !!! (pronounced Chk Chk Chk) and indie rockers We are Scientists on Aug. 11. On Aug. 4, New York City-based Public Access TV will rock the Plaza Tropical stage, while on Aug. 8 former ‘The Voice’ contestant and singer-songwriter Tony Lucca will perform at Americaplatz.

Presented by the nonprofit ArtsQuest, Musikfest was founded in 1984 and today offers more than 500 free music and art performances at 18 venues, making it one of the largest music festivals in the nation. The festival, which features free music on 16 stages, is made possible thanks in part to the support of 1,700 volunteers, 3,000 supporting ArtsQuest Members and more than 150 corporate partners. Musikfest takes place throughout Bethlehem’s Historic District, as well as the SteelStacks arts and cultural campus located on the site of the city’s former Bethlehem Steel plant. In addition to hundreds of free concerts, the event presents 40-plus food vendors, 45 artisans, engaging street performers and unique art attractions from around the globe like the United Kingdom-based Architects of Air inflatable luminarium.
