Morgan Stanley is strengthening its position in the Bitcoin ETF market after steadily accumulating Bitcoin despite ongoing cryptocurrency market volatility. The investment banking giant’s Bitcoin ETF is now approaching $1 billion in holdings following months of consistent growth.
According to fresh data from blockchain intelligence platform Arkham, Morgan Stanley’s Bitcoin ETF, known as MSBT, currently holds approximately 10,519 BTC. The Bitcoin stash is valued at roughly $903.86 million, putting the fund less than $100 million away from the significant $1 billion threshold.
The rapid accumulation is notable because the Morgan Stanley Bitcoin ETF has reportedly been trading for only about five months. MSBT began trading on NYSE Arca in April 2026, providing Morgan Stanley with direct exposure to the expanding U.S. spot Bitcoin ETF market.
Arkham identified blockchain addresses associated with the fund within roughly a week of its launch. Since then, investors and market observers have been able to monitor changes in MSBT’s Bitcoin reserves and track the fund’s accumulation strategy.
Despite periods of sharp volatility across the broader crypto market, Morgan Stanley has continued increasing its Bitcoin exposure. The fund’s holdings have now climbed to more than 10,500 BTC, demonstrating the scale of institutional demand that has developed since its debut.
At the current Bitcoin price, MSBT needs less than $100 million in additional value to cross the $1 billion mark. Continued Bitcoin purchases could allow the fund to reach that milestone as early as October, although changes in Bitcoin’s market price could also push the value of its existing holdings higher or lower.
Morgan Stanley’s rapid growth adds another major Wall Street institution to the expanding institutional Bitcoin market. With its ETF approaching $1 billion in assets within months of launching, MSBT’s accumulation will likely remain closely watched as investors assess institutional appetite for Bitcoin and the broader development of the U.S. spot Bitcoin ETF sector.
