Cardano’s ADA is outperforming the broader cryptocurrency market, climbing 10% over the past 24 hours as investors focus on new RealFi developments and the blockchain’s upcoming Dijkstra scalability upgrade.
ADA gained about 4% since midnight UTC and traded above $0.27, its highest level since May. The rally significantly outpaced Bitcoin and Ethereum, which advanced roughly 1% and 0.5%, respectively. Bitcoin remained confined to its recent $84,000-$87,000 trading range.
One potential catalyst behind Cardano’s rally is growing interest in its “RealFi” initiative, announced Oct. 1. The product enables users to direct stablecoins into institutional credit opportunities offering annual yields of up to 9%.
Attention is also turning toward Cardano’s Dijkstra era, the network’s next major scalability and optimization phase. Its initial Phase 1 rollout is scheduled between late December 2026 and early 2027. The upgrade will introduce Linear Leios and nested transactions, technologies designed to substantially increase Cardano’s transaction throughput.
The rally comes despite strength in the U.S. dollar. The U.S. Dollar Index rose to 102.53, its highest level since April 2025, after climbing from 98.60 on Sept. 9. A stronger dollar is traditionally viewed as a potential headwind for Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.
Bitcoin derivatives positioning remained relatively firm. Open interest slipped to $22 billion from $22.4 billion on Friday, while annualized funding rates ranged between 4% and 10%. Options trading remained heavily tilted toward calls, while roughly $174 million in crypto positions were liquidated over 24 hours.
Elsewhere, Sui gained nearly 7% amid technical momentum and anticipation surrounding its Basecamp ecosystem event. Solana and Uniswap slipped about 0.4%, while BNB remained largely unchanged.
Monad declined more than 4% despite StraitsX plans to issue native SGD and USD stablecoins on the network. Zcash also fell 2% as privacy-token momentum cooled.
ADA’s sharp advance leaves Cardano among the strongest-performing major cryptocurrencies as traders increasingly position around its RealFi expansion and upcoming network upgrades.
