Watertown, MA, Feb. 08, 2017 -- Mimecast Limited (NASDAQ: MIME), a leading email and data security company, today announced that it has achieved certification to ISO 22301:2012, the international standard for business continuity management systems. Issued by Certification Europe™, an accredited certification body which provides International Organization for Standardization (ISO) management system certification and other management standards to organizations globally, the ISO 22301 standard stipulates the requirements for a management system to protect against, reduce the likelihood of and ensure a business recovers from disruptive incidents.
“Mimecast is committed to providing industry-leading continuity for email. Their focus on becoming ISO 22301 certified is indicative of their relentless pursuit of excellence as a vendor trusted by so many,” said Duane Stenberg, senior manager IS infrastructure, Mohawk Carpets.
The ISO 22301 standard provides a basis for understanding, developing, implementing and managing business continuity within organizations, and gives business managers confidence when dealing with stakeholders both within and outside their organizations. This international standard is designed to keep businesses operational during the most challenging and unexpected circumstances, such as natural disasters, IT failures, supply chain disruptions, government interventions, or other threats. The ISO 22301 certification is the most recent addition to Mimecast’s certifications, which also consists of ISO 27001:2013, Certification for Information Security Management Systems, and ISO 27018:2014, Certification for Protection of Personally Identifiable Information in a public cloud computing environment.
“Mimecast is dedicated to building trust with our customers across the globe, and helping them incorporate Mimecast into their compliance strategies,” said Mark Bilbe, chief of customer operations, Mimecast. “We strive to stay ahead of the curve as new standards and certifications are introduced. Mimecast’s latest ISO 22301 Certification demonstrates how we take an innovative approach to technology with continued focus on providing Legendary Customer Success.”
“It is with great pleasure Certification Europe certifies Mimecast to ISO 22301 Business Continuity management system. This is the latest in an impressive collection of ISO certifications (ISO 27001 & ISO 27018),” said Michael Brophy, chief executive officer, Certification Europe. “We have worked with Mimecast since 2012 and since day one we have been impressed with their passion and determination to achieve the highest standards possible in areas that not only affect company operations, but also their determination to continuously improve themselves for the good of their clients and shareholders. Mimecast’s certification journey to ISO 22301 was particularly impressive as there were no non-conformances raised by the assessor during the final assessment which is just one example of the high caliber work Mimecast do to reach the highest possible industry standards. We look forward to our continued relationship with Mimecast as they continue to develop and improve on these ISO standards.”
