Melania Trump is not attending a campaign rally for Donald Trump, and her appearance was canceled at the last minute. Based on the reports, the First Lady withdrew from her first campaign schedule as she is not feeling well.
The cause of Melania’s rally attendance cancellation
The rally was held on Tuesday, Oct. 20, in Pennsylvania and Melania Trump could not go. In a statement released by her chief of staff, it was revealed that the exact reason was the FLOTUS’ lingering cough after recovering from COVID-19.
"Mrs. Trump continues to feel better every day following her recovery from Covid-19, but with a lingering cough, and out of an abundance of caution, she will not be traveling today," CNN News quoted Stephanie Grisham as saying.
If she was able to attend last night, it would have been her very first public appearance in a campaign rally following her recovery from the coronavirus infection. The president, Melania Trump and other politicians and White House staff were infected with COVID-19 after attending a White House introduction for Amy Coney Barrett, a supreme court nominee, on Sept. 26.
At this time, it was said that there are no plans for Melania Trump to attend another rally in the future. A source insisted that the FLOTUS’ health issues right now are genuine. She has a persistent cough and it is not time for her to be in the spotlight so she can fully recover.
In any case, Donald Trump has been widely criticized for his attitude towards the highly contagious infection. The public accused him of not taking proper caution when staging public events during this time of the pandemic.
This is because the president’s campaign rallies do not practice social distancing or the wearing of face masks. Also, his staff is not enforcing guidelines for the safety of the public who attends the rallies.

Meanwhile, Melania Trump shared about her experience after testing positive with coronavirus. In a post titled “First Lady Melania Trump: ‘My personal experience with COVID-19” that was published via White House’s website, she revealed that she also had a hard time after falling ill.
“I was very fortunate as my diagnosis came with minimal symptoms, though they hit me all at once and it seemed to be a roller coaster of symptoms in the days after,” the first lady wrote. “I experienced body aches, a cough and headaches, and felt extremely tired most of the time.”
