DALLAS, June 13, 2016 -- Meeting Professionals International (MPI) has announced the MPI Academy is launching several new education offerings, including seven web-based courses and two Experiential Event Series programs. This announcement was shared yesterday during a media briefing event at MPI's 2016 World Education Congress (WEC) in Atlantic City.
The new courses include online versions of MPI's Healthcare Meeting Compliance Certificate (HMCC) and Sustainable Meeting Professional Certificate (SMPC) programs as well as the Meetings & Events at Sea program presented in partnership with the Cruise Line International Association (CLIA). In addition, the academy has developed two web-based Experiential Event Series Case Study courses, which provide key learnings from its CES® and South by Southwest (SXSW) experiential event programs in an on-demand format, and will offer the Venue Sales Certificate Program I and II online courses, which focus on three foundational areas of the sales process—pitch, positioning and proposals. All of these courses align with the Meeting and Business Event Competency Standards (MBECS), and will be available online starting July 1, 2016.
"At MPI, we strive to be the first choice for professional career development by delivering comprehensive and relevant education during conferences and events as well as online," said Paul Van Deventer, president and CEO of MPI. "We are excited to launch these new MPI Academy offerings, which are part of ongoing efforts to expand our digital content and make our education more accessible to members, and look forward to introducing more courses later this year."
