ST. LOUIS, Oct. 13, 2016 -- LMI Aerospace Inc. (Nasdaq:LMIA) (“LMI” or “the company”) has delivered its first aileron and flap assemblies to Honda Aircraft Company for the HA-420 HondaJet, an advanced light jet being manufactured in Greensboro, N.C.
“We are thrilled to provide aerostructures that will help the HondaJet soar,” said LMI Aerospace Chief Executive Officer Dan Korte. “These work packages showcase some of the best of what LMI Aerospace does in metal forming, machining, processing and assembly. Now that we’ve proven our technical capabilities with Honda Aircraft, we’re focused on ramping up our production of these assemblies.”
The aileron and flap assemblies were the first aerostructures work packages LMI was awarded on the HondaJet program, supporting LMI’s strategy to expand its customer base. LMI subsequently was awarded a contract to provide engine pylons for the HondaJet. The company previously provided engineering services on the program.
