Katie Holmes is said to be having financial troubles that she even had to give up her apartment in New York and move back to her parents’ home again. This has been reported many times already, and the gist of these reports is that Suri Cruise’s mom is going broke.
Leaving New York after splitting with Jamie Foxx
It was reported that Holmes decided to move to his parents’ home with Suri. Based on the report, this happened after she and Jamie Foxx called it quits. The “Dawson’s Creek” actress supposedly made the decision not just because of heartache but due to financial difficulties too.
Allegedly, after the break-up, she and Suri Cruise packed their bags and left their apartment in Manhattan since she could not afford to stay there anymore. This story that appeared on Australia’s Woman’s Day seems to suggest that Foxx also helped her financially; that is why she was able to live in New York while they were still together.
Katie sold her properties
In March, NW magazine wrote that Katie Holmes sold her home in Calabasas because she has run out of cash. Her financial situation forced her to sell her property that, according to the Los Angeles Times, was sold for $4 million.
While it is true that she sold her Calabasas property, it is false that she did it because she needs money for herself and to support her daughter Suri Cruise. The truth is, Suri is studying in New York, and they have an apartment there too, thus they rarely ever visited her own home.

The latest report about Katie Holmes stated that due to the coronavirus pandemic, she lost more money and not earning anything at all. Tabloids went as far as saying that Suri’s mom is now regretting her divorce from Tom Cruise since she is not financially stable now.
"Katie was proud of walking away from Tom without securing a hefty financial settlement,” a so-called source said. “But in hindsight, that may have been a huge mistake."
