The leaked draft opinion by the Supreme Court overturning the landmark Roe v. Wade abortion rights decision has led to public outrage and protests in the country. A new report revealed that former White House adviser Ivanka Trump was present at a key meeting that led to the Supreme Court decision that was leaked.

A report by the Washington Post revealed that Ms. Trump was present during key parts of a meeting that would result in the leaked draft that Roe v. Wade would be struck down by the Supreme Court. The revelation of Ms. Trump’s attendance was part of a piece by the newspaper documenting the decades-long efforts to overturn the abortion rights decision.

The report also revealed how Senator Mitch McConnell expressed concerns about the Supreme Court when Donald Trump won the election in 2016. McConnell, according to the report, called Donald McGahn, who would later become the White House lawyer.

A week since the call, an ally of McConnell, Leonard Leo, who is part of the Federalist Society, was with Trump and his advisers at Trump Tower with a list of potential conservative Supreme Court nominees.

Ms. Trump was present at the meeting.

“As incoming chief of staff Reince Preibus and Trump’s daughter Ivanka came in and out of the room, Leo laid out a road map for Trump on the federal court system, potentially transforming the foundational understanding of rights in America,” said the outlet.

“It was a moment anti-abortion activists had been working toward for decades: The highest reaches of Republican power finally focused, in unison, on achieving the once implausible goal of revisiting the jurisprudence of the 1960s and 1970s, including Roe v. Wade, the 1973 ruling that legalized abortion nationwide.”

Previously, Ms. Trump is among the members of the Trump family to come forward and testify before the January 6 congressional committee as part of its probe into the riots last year. In an interview with CNN, the committee’s chair, Democratic Rep. Bennie Thompson said that the former first daughter answered questions regarding what she was doing at the time the insurrection was taking place.

Thompson also revealed that Ms. Trump answered questions regarding her awareness of what her father was doing when the riots were happening.

The committee’s chair noted that Ms. Trump testified following her husband, former White House adviser Jared Kushner, and both their testimonies were in line with other witnesses when it came to the fact that Trump was being urged to take action when the siege occurred.
