The weekend put an end to the election as Donald Trump lost to Joe Biden, therefore only serving the presidency for one term. As trouble ensues around Trump’s refusal to concede, several of his aides, including his own daughter Ivanka Trump have already advised him to come to terms with the loss.
Contrary to her father, her step-mother Melania Trump, and her brother Donald Trump Jr., Ivanka is among those aides who have quietly been advising the president to accept the results and concede to Biden. Following the announcement of the results and the declaration of Biden as the winner, Ivanka remained silent, while Trump, the first lady, and Don Jr. have publicly contested the results, pushing their unsupported claims of election or voter fraud. However, according to people knowledgeable in the matter, Ivanka has already pushed for the administration to admit defeat, yet it is mostly because she has her sights on running for office.
“Ivanka has her own agenda. She’s had her eyes on the desk behind the Oval Office since day one and she’s not about to burn any bridges by mouthing off like Don Jr. who keeps lashing out on Twitter,” according to an insider. “Everything she puts out is calculated and well-thought-out because she’s always looking at the big picture.”
Ivanka’s husband Jared Kushner has also reportedly approached Trump about conceding. The insider also revealed that the eldest Trump siblings are split on whether or not their father should accept the loss. Don Jr. and Eric Trump have opposed concession while Ivanka and Jared are pushing for it. However, the White House adviser is not the only Trump child with ambitions of running for office as Don Jr. is also eyeing a potential presidential bid.
Nevertheless, Trump is set to exit the White House by January as Biden is sworn in as the new president. This also poses the question of what Ivanka would do once her tenure in the White House ends. There has been some speculation that Ivanka may return to reality television especially as she gained some popularity appearing alongside her father in The Apprentice. Ivanka has yet to reveal what she plans to do after leaving the White House, but she has suggested that she may stay in the political sphere.
