Google Pixel 9 Pro Teased: Sleek Design, Advanced Tensor G4 Chipset

Leaked renders of Google Pixel 9 Pro reveal a sleek design and hint at significant upgrades with the Tensor G4 chipset.

Google I/O is still a few months away, but at the advertising giant's keynote, we usually get a little preview of the impending Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro.

However, we had a glimpse at the larger flagship's renders much earlier, and if you haven't noticed in the most recent photos, we see an upgraded design, along with some larger back cameras and much more.

Google Pixel 9 Pro Renders Appear Several Months Before Official Launch

The Google Pixel 9 Pro's initial peek came via a collaboration between OnLeaks and MySmartPrice, with the display being the most noticeable cosmetic update. Google is reportedly switching to a flat panel, and the Pixel 9 Pro is expected to be smaller than its predecessor, with a 6.5-inch screen vs the 6.7-inch one on the Pixel 8 Pro, as per WCCFTech.

Google may seek to physically reduce its top-end model in 2024 after multiple users complained about the Pixel 8 Pro's large size and weight. Aside from that, the design has improved, with Pixel 9 Pro renders revealing smaller bezels and a horizontally organized back camera array with larger sensors than the previous generation.

Though the camera specs were not provided, the one in the center is the largest of the three, with a periscope camera placed just next to it. If our hypothesis is true, the temperature sensor will return to this flagship, assuming it is located directly below the back flash.

Google Pixel 9 Pro Unveiled: Sleek Design Meets Power with Tensor G4 SoC

The renders also reveal the Pixel 9 Pro's measurements, which are said to be 162.7 x 76.6 x 8.5mm, with the camera bump increasing to 12.0mm. Previously, we learnt that both the Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro would be powered by the Tensor G4 SoC, albeit the rumor suggested that the chipset would be a small upgrade over the Tensor G3. Google may continue with Samsung as the foundry partner.

However, given how the Korean company piqued everyone's interest with its Exynos 2400 and the remarkable capabilities demonstrated in benchmark comparisons, we have great expectations for the Tensor G4. We expect some portions of these renders to change as the Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro launch dates approach, so readers should remain tuned for future updates.
