Following Square Enix’s announcement that “Final Fantasy 8: Remaster” will be coming out soon, fans have been wondering what sort of new features the game will bring. Now, rumors would have it that the game will have voice acting implemented by the studio.
It’s unclear, however, how much voice-over will be provided for “Final Fantasy 8: Remaster.” Is it going to be present throughout the game, or will it only cover cut-scenes and other significant events? That remains to be seen.
“Final Fantasy 8: Remaster” has a lot of characters in it and voicing them all will take a lot of effort in Square Enix’s part, Daily Star reported. But if the studio manages to pull it off, it will create a whole layer of atmosphere for the game since character development is one of the major foundations for the title’s success.
Final Fantasy 8: Remaster expected to create a new experience in the form of voice-overs
Indeed, Squall’s journey from being a reserved protagonist to someone who openly discusses his thoughts are just some of the many evolutions that the game will tread. There are a lot of high expectations surrounding “Final Fantasy 8: Remaster” on account that it’s considered one of the best entries of the franchise.
And with voice-overs supposedly making its way into the title, the game will be offering a new experience for those who have already finished the game. Voice acting wasn’t implemented by Square Enix for the franchise until 2001, two years after the “Final Fantasy 8” came out. Aside from voice-overs and a fresh coat of paint, “Final Fantasy 8: Remaster” will also be providing a lot of others improvements such as the option to turn off random encounters and speeding up events in the game, TechRadar reported.
Final Fantasy 8: Remaster to allow cheat codes for PC versions
For the PC version, the game will allow players to use cheat codes that would instantly provide all the items, abilities, cards, and more. As of this writing, Square Enix has yet to announce when exactly “Final Fantasy 8: Remaster” will come out other than revealing it’ll arrive sometime late this year. Hopefully, the remaster paves the way to a complete remake of the game similar to what’s been done to “Final Fantasy VII.”
