Dunkin' once offered real fruit smoothies like Strawberry Banana and Wildberry, featuring low-fat yogurt and natural ingredients. Despite their popularity, these nutritious beverages are no longer on the menu as of summer 2024. Customers now turn to other frozen options for a refreshing treat.
Dunkin’s Beloved Real Fruit Smoothies Disappear from Menus, Leaving Fans with New Frozen Options
Over the years, Dunkin' has surprised its loyal customers with new and inventive drinks. Fans from the early 2000s may recall Dunkin's limited-edition smoothies, known for their thickness and satisfying taste. These drinks were so substantial that spilling them in the car was hardly a concern.
Fast food smoothies can vary in nutritional value, but Dunkin’s are made with natural ingredients. In 2015, Dunkin' introduced its Strawberry Banana and Tropical Mango smoothies, confirming they were made with natural fruit and low-fat yogurt. The following year, the Wildberry smoothie debuted on the summer menu, with Dunkin' Brands’ former Executive Chef, Jeff Miller, noting it was packed with fresh fruit.
According to Tasting Table, the Strawberry Banana and Tropical Mango smoothies each contained 260 calories or less per 16-ounce serving, while the Wildberry smoothie featured strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, and blackberries mixed with low-fat yogurt. These smoothies provided a nutritious, satisfying option for customers seeking healthier on-the-go choices.
Despite their popularity, Dunkin's smoothies weren’t available at all locations, and as of summer 2024, they are no longer on the menu. Dunkin' offers alternatives such as Frozen Coffee, Coolatta, Frozen Chocolate, and Frozen Matcha Latte for those looking to beat the heat. While full fruit smoothies are absent, Dunkin’s secret menu offers some fruit-forward Coolatta options to satisfy those craving fruity flavors.
Customize Dunkin's Frozen Chocolate with Coconut, Berry Shots, or S'mores for a Summer Twist
Last month's report, Dunkin’ Donuts Frozen Chocolate offers all the rich, chocolatey goodness of the classic drink while keeping you cool in the heat. Delicious on its own with a generous dollop of whipped cream, this summer treat can be customized in several exciting ways.
One simple upgrade is the addition of coconut. While Dunkin’ discontinued coconut milk in 2023, you can still capture the tropical flavors by adding unsweetened coconut flavor shots to your Frozen Chocolate. Available through the Dunkin’ app or in-store, these sugar-free shots introduce just the right hint of coconut. For a creamier experience, add three mocha swirls, which are sweetened and dairy-based, to create a coconut mocha blend.
Dunkin’ offers two flavor shots that work well with Frozen Chocolate—blueberry and raspberry- for a fruity twist. These shots add a burst of brightness to the rich chocolate base; you can combine them with coconut for an extra tropical touch. Alternatively, you can opt for a richer flavor profile by including a donut or caramel swirl, which pairs exceptionally well with the raspberry shot.
Another fun way to transform your Frozen Chocolate is by giving it the s’mores treatment. This option might not be fruity, but it evokes memories of summer nights around a campfire. Request s’mores flavor swirls, and take it a step further by adding marshmallow cold foam, mocha drizzle, or graham crumbles. The classic sweet version can also be added for those who love cold foam. S’mores flavor swirls are seasonal, so try them while they last.
