CUPERTINO, Calif., April 17, 2016 -- Pet Ear Care Center of Cupertino, California, recently announced that its veterinarian, Dr. Munir Kureshi, DVM, will be attending a series of continuing education workshops at the end of April. The workshops cover a variety of topics related to small animal care, which will help to further hone and maintain Dr. Kureshi's veterinary skills so that he can continue to provide optimal care for local pets. The clinic is promoting Dr. Kureshi's attendance of these workshops to ensure that pet owners are aware of his commitment to lifelong learning. "As with any type of medicine, veterinary techniques change and improve over time," said Dr. Kureshi. "I strive to stay abreast of the latest developments and believe that these workshops help me provide the best care to my patients," he added.
With more than 20 years of veterinary experience, Dr. Kureshi of Pet Ear Care Center has a long record of success and has earned a reputation for providing top-notch care to local pets through the years. The workshops that he will attend near the end of the month are held at Colorado State University's College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences from April 25 to April 28. The first course on Multipurpose Rigid Endoscopy will be held at the James L. Voss Veterinary Teaching Hospital and will provide training for the effective use of the 2.7-millimeter multipurpose rigid endoscope, which has a variety of applications. Dr. Kureshi will participate in a hands-on lab that allows him to apply the methods learned during the course.
The second workshop is the Introduction to Small Animal Laparoscopy, which is a minimally invasive approach that can be used for diagnostics, organ biopsies, various surgical procedures and many other applications. The workshop consists of a series of lectures as well as a hands-on session during which participants can practice the techniques. Participants will then perform laparoscopies on anesthetized dogs to further refine their newly acquired skills.
The final workshop on Laparoscopic Ovariectomy covers the method of sterilizing female dogs and cats. This method is quickly becoming the new standard, so this knowledge will greatly benefit Dr. Kureshi's patients. Before the workshop is over, participants will have performed the procedure on dogs from a local animal shelter. They will then be returned to the shelter and made available for adoption.
"I look forward to learning more about these important veterinary topics at the end of the month," said Dr. Kureshi, "and I am confident that in doing so, I will be able to keep providing an impeccable standard of care to my valued clients," he added.
