‘Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba’ chapter 197: Muzan just lost his sole method of dealing with sunrise

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba / Facebook

With only 35 minutes left before sunrise, the pressure is on for Muzan to finally make his escape in “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” chapter 197. Originally, he would have one way to deal with the rising sun but Tamayo, even in death, still managed to eliminate that option from him.

Muzan’s plans in killing Tanjirou’s family

In the recently released “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” chapter 196, which can be read online on MangaPlus, fMuzan’s intention when he attacked Tanjiro and Nezuko’s family was finally revealed. Apparently, the demon has been researching ways of eliminating his vulnerability to sunlight.

Unfortunately, the Kamado family members were just the subjects of his experimentations. “So they from injection of this much blood,” Muzan said as recalled by Nezuko. “I cannot easily make a demon who can conquer the sun.”

Tamayo bars Muzan from stealing Nezuko’s ability

Muzan’s goal has finally been realized in Nezuko who has the ability to remain unharmed even when exposed to sunlight. But before he could absorb Tanjiro’s sister and claim her ability as his own, Tamayo, even in death, was still able to stop Muzan’s plan in its track.

Tamayo’s medicine proved to be effective in reverting Nezuko back into a human. This means that in “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” chapter 197, Muzan will have no choice but to try to flee from Tanjiro and Obanai.

Other Pillars will join the fray

Meanwhile, Tamayo seems to have anticipated the wounds that the Pillars got in the course of fighting against Muzan. Before she died, she formulated enough medicine to treat the wounded and had instructed her demon cat beforehand to enter the battlefield to deliver the vials.

This means that some of the Pillars will recover enough strength and enter the battlefield once more to support Tanjiro and Obanai in “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” chapter 197. With more of the Demon Slayer corps joining the fray, it would be harder for Muzan to escape the battlefield.

Medicine’s 4th effect starts to kick in

Muzan tried to make his escape by splitting his body, the same method he used when he was about to be killed by Yoriichi centuries ago. Unfortunately for the demon, Tamayo’s medicine prevented him from doing that move as it suppressed his regenerative ability, which meant he can no longer split his body into different parts like before.

But the worst effect of the medicine is yet to arrive in“Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” chapter 197. As previously reported by Econotimes, Tamayo mocked Muzan by saying that the medicine actually had a fourth effect – that of cell destruction.

In fact, the process of cell destruction already started to kick in. Muzan was seen coughing up blood in the previous chapter but the worst is likely to come in “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” chapter 197, which will be released on Mangaplus in March 8.
