Memphis TN, Dec. 21, 2017 -- Blake Higgins, Marketing Systems Administrator for Data Facts, Inc. has been appointed Co-Chairman for the Make-A-Wish Mid-South Associate Board.
Blake joined the Make-A-Wish Associate Board in 2014 and is excited by the opportunity to give back to the community through such a worthy cause. “As co-chair, I hope to broaden the scope of who is involved with Make-A-Wish Mid-South and gain younger volunteers who have the same passion for fulfilling wishes of patients with life-threatening illnesses. I’m honored to serve as Co-Chair to Catherine Duncan, who has already done so much for Make-A-Wish even before being appointed Chairman this year”.
Blake has a history of being involved in worthy causes, also dedicating time over the years to St. Jude, Mid-South Foodbank, and Habitat for Humanity.
Data Facts Inc. has been involved with Make-A-Wish in the past by sponsoring the wildly successful Dishes for Wishes, hosted by top chef Felicia Suzanne. Make-A-Wish is also a premier non-profit in Data Facts’ Give Back Initiative that began in early 2013.
Since 1980, the Make-A-Wish Foundation has given hope, strength and joy to children with life threatening medical conditions. Nationally, the Make-A-Wish Foundation has granted nearly 173,000 wishes since its inception. The Mid-South chapter, which encompasses West Tennessee, Arkansas, and North Mississippi, has granted more than 3,100 wishes.
The Make-A-Wish Mid-South Associate board supports Make-A-Wish Mid-South via event-based fundraising through the creation of awareness and by helping share the power of a wish®. Through the formation of the Associate Board, Make-A-Wish Mid-South hopes to gain a wider audience of young professionals thus solidifying the future and continued commitment to Make-A-Wish Mid-South and its mission.
“Blake has gone above and beyond for Make-A-Wish Mid-South on all accounts and I am so glad they recognize his talent, dedication and genuine enthusiasm for helping children with life-threatening illnesses and their families,” said Daphne Large, CEO of Data Facts, Inc. “I could not be prouder of Blake and his initiative, effort and impact.”
