BERLIN, Sept. 05, 2016 -- This week at IFA 2016 in Berlin, DSP Group®, Inc. (NASDAQ:DSPG), a leading global provider of wireless chipset solutions for converged communications, and EUROtronic Technology GmbH, a leading German developer and manufacturer of wireless smart home solutions announced today that EUROtronic will be launching innovative smart home components based on the DECT ULE (Ultra-Low Energy) standard. The new sensors will include thermostats, a wall switch and door/window contacts.

EUROtronic’s new line of sensors integrate DSP Group’s DHAN-S module which offers application developers a turn-key platform for ULE nodes, whether battery- or AC-powered. Built around the company’s DHX91 chipset, DSP Group’s DHAN-S module is easily integrated into the smallest of smart home nodes. The module can serve as a wireless connectivity channel for an application running on an external microcontroller unit (MCU) or can act as a standalone solution using the DHX91’s internal ARM926® processor.
The new sensors leverage superior range, extremely low latency and low energy consumption, thus cost-saving, Interference-free enabling reliable transmissions using a dedicated, licensed frequency band and exceptional security with standardized built-in encryption.
“With IoT technology entering mainstream deployment, smart home applications are one of the first areas of consumer adoption and we are excited to bring brand new and innovative products to market using DSP Group’s ULE chipsets,” commented Dieter Herber, CEO of EUROtronic. “The benefits of using ULE technology for wireless communication and DSP Group’s knowledge, as shown through its history with DECT, made this a logical choice in our product evolution.”
“We are happy to introduce the new products we’ve co-developed, including smart home thermostats, a wall switch and a door/window contact, enriching the growing portfolio of ULE-based sensors,” commented Jochen Kilian, VP Core Technology of DSP Group. “We are excited to continue our work with EUROtronic to bring the next-generation of ULE-enabled IoT technology to the market.”
