COPENHAGEN, Denmark, May 03, 2018 -- Capsule8 today announced its partnership with Google Cloud to bring container runtime security capabilities to Cloud Security Command Center (Cloud SCC), a security and data risk platform helping enterprises to gather data, identify threats, and act on them before they result in business damage or loss.
Effective container runtime security hinges on security response teams being able to quickly detect and respond to security threats on live containers– from detection, to remediation, to forensics. With new container security capabilities and partners available through Cloud SCC, customers can view security alerts for Kubernetes Engine clusters in a single pane of glass, and choose how to best take action.
Capsule8 is a real-time, zero-day attack detection platform purpose built for modern production infrastructures. The Capsule8 integration with Google delivers continuous security across Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environments to detect and help shut down attacks as they happen. Capsule8 runs entirely in the customer's Google Compute Engine environment and only requires a lightweight installation-free sensor running on each Google Compute Engine (GCE) to stream behavioral telemetry to identify and help shut down zero-day attacks in real-time.
“Partnering with Google, Capsule8 provides GCP customers with essential visibility into their workloads and the necessary tools to detect and help shut down zero-day attacks within their GCP environment, with minimal performance impact,” said John Viega, co-founder and CEO, Capsule8. “The opportunity to work with Google on this integration is a huge opportunity for us and will help us provide the best possible solution for our joint customers.”
"At Google, we’ve had a decade’s worth of experience building - and securing - containers. We are constantly developing new solutions to ensure customers are armed with the tools needed to combat today’s security challenges," said Andy Chang, Product Manager, Google Cloud. "With new container runtime security capabilities in Cloud SCC, and technical integrations like the one from Capsule8, we are giving customers access to the tools they need to protect containers.”
