It seems that CBS has been actively planning on how to safely resume operations as it is the first television network to restart production on one of its signature shows--The Bold and the Beautiful.
CBS resumed shooting for the Bold and the Beautiful on Wednesday, June 17, 2020, at the CBS Television City in the Fairfax District of Los Angeles, making it the first scripted TV show to restart its production.
California had allowed film and tv show productions to resume last June 12 following the shutdown in the middle of March due to the coronavirus (CoVid-19) pandemic.
Cinemablend reports that although there is no specific date yet on when the show will be back on air, CBS executives are hoping it could already start airing by July.
The show will have to strictly follow protocols set in place to stop the spread of CoVid-19 for the cast and crew's safety. These protocols are being implemented by Los Angeles, LA County and Hackman Capital Partners, who owns Television City.
The set of the Bold and the Beautiful has a CoVid-19 coordinator, an independent one, who will make sure that all protocols are being followed, according to The Economic Times.
Prior to resuming the shoot, the cast and crew were made to undergo a test for CoVid-19. They must also observed social distancing and must always wear a mask on the set, except for actors who will be performing.
Call times have also been altered as the working days have been made shorter. The number of casts present on the set will also be limited. The script will also be rewritten to accommodate all the changes.
No other TV shows have restarted their filming although many have already conducted meetings on how to go about resuming operations.
