At the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2018, Belkin introduced the world to the Boost Up Charging Pad and Boost Up Charging Stand. These are basically wireless charging platforms that will allow smartphone owners to charge their devices without having to plug anything in. What makes them different from other charging units in the same category, however, is how powerful they are.
Featuring 10W of power, these charging stations are able to provide the latest iPhone models with 7.5W of power right now, 9to5Mac reports. This is expected to improve in time, but it’s still a remarkable achievement with regards to this particular segment of the market.
Other than the iPhone, however, the platform is also capable of charging Android devices such as those from Samsung, LG and Sony. Naturally, they would need to be Qi-enabled in order to take advantage of the feature.
Another unique feature of these platforms is their design, in that they are not only standing, but also come in three different colors: Midnight Black, Desert Pink, and Snowcap White.
With regards to the prices, the Boost Up Charging Pad will cost $60 while the Stand will cost $70. They are now available for purchase both on Belkin’s website and Amazon.
It’s worth pointing out that the biggest selling point of wireless charging is convenience. Anyone who prefers the fastest charge rates possible might want to stick with traditional fast-charging units, for now. On the other hand, the ratings for these devices have been quite good so far, with very few complaints about relatively minor issues.
More to the point, Belkin’s offerings are some of the cheapest and safest in the market, which is important since they will be responsible for charging some of the most expensive gadgets available. Those who are interested in taking advantage of this particular issue might want to check it out now before stocks run out.
