100 projects register for Shanghai International Blockchain Week

Nearly 100 participating projects had applied for Shanghai’s International Blockchain Week, which will take place this year at Hyatt on the Bund from September 19 to 24, with thirty selected to present, making it the biggest demonstration of live blockchain projects so far.

Cryptocoinsnews.com reported that, according to James Gong, the founder of Chinese IT media outlet ChainB, thirty blockchain oriented startups and projects, with their respective field of application, will be able to present their progress to major investors and innovators.

“With Demo Day, 30 Blockchain oriented startups and projects will explore potential entrepreneurship opportunity in China. For investment institutions and individual investors, Demo Day brings them closer to the latest endeavors in the Blockchain industry,” he told CCN.

The projects include BitSE, creator of an operating system for blockchain development Qtum; cryptocurrency startup Digix; exchange platform Decentralized Capital (DC); distributed autonomous derivatives marketplace Velocity; among others.

“We have a testnet demo of the smart contract we’ll show off. We’re currently working to refine the UI, but we think we have something that speculators will certainly want to use,” Daniel Cawrey, a spokesman for Velocity told CCN.

The Demo Day will witness 25 other projects to be revealed on the day and at the end, a prize is awarded to the “Demo Day Champion” as well as for the most innovative project. CCN reported that, according to Ethereum Foundation representative George Hallam, the Devcon2 blockchain conference registration is now closed and the tickets are sold out.

The Ethereum Foundation and Wanxiang Blockchain Labs jointly announced the International Blockchain Week in Shanghai earlier in April that will combine Devcon2 and 2nd Global Blockchain Summit, and will feature a unique three-segment format, allowing people to attend any combination of days best suited to their needs.
