Chaired the advisory panel (APOSM) on minimum unit pricing and led the authorship of the report to the Welsh Government. Contributed to reports on tramadol dependency and substance misuse in the elderly. Contributed to the Welsh Government's Public Health White paper (2014). Co-applicant on DECIPHer (Centre for the Development and Evaluation of Complex Interventions for Public Health Improvement) a UK CRC Centre for Excellence. I chair the Trial Steering Committee for the "ACCEPT: AlCohol screening and brief intervention in a police Custody suitEs setting: PiloT" (funder: NIHR). I advise the Welsh Government and third sector agencies on the treatment and management of those suffering from alcohol-related brain damage, and contributed to the recent Alcohol Concern report on this topic. I am regularly invited to present at national and local events in the areas of managing alcohol-related harm and violence, most recently as a keynote speaker at Alcohol Concern's national annual conference (2014).
