Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Infectious Diseases, Edinburgh Napier University
I am a postdoctoral fellow at Napier Edinburgh University. I am currently investigating the role of antimicrobial peptides in viral infections. I am particularly interested in host-pathogen interactions.
I completed my degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Coimbra in Portugal.
I moved to Scotland and later started my PhD in Professor Barlow's lab (Edinburgh Napier University) where I investigated the role of the human cathelicidin in rhinovirus infection. I then moved to the Netherlands to start my post-doctoral fellowship to investigate the bacterial interactions occurring in the respiratory microbiome of paediatric patients.
