Michael is a graduate student in psychology at the University of Oregon. He is from Medford, NJ and completed his undergraduate education at Muhlenberg College majoring and psychology and minoring in statistics. Michael's research interests include the roles of emotion and cognitive ability (i.e., numeracy; numeric literacy) in judgments and decision making. He is also interested in the role of confidence in decision making and medical decisions. His current research investigates the roles of emotion in forming preferences for treatments, the weighting of probabilities, as well as, how people become overconfident and the consequences of overconfidence on decision making.
