Martin J. Bull is Professor of Politics at the University of Salford and Director of the European Consortium of Political Research (ECPR). He obtained his doctorate at the European University Institute, Florence (1987) and is former Head of Department, Head of School, Associate Dean Research and Deputy Chair of Senate at the University of Salford. He is a specialist of Italian and comparative politics, and his books include: Italian Politics: Adjustment under Duress (Polity, 2005) with James Newell; and Italy: A Contested Polity (Routledge, 2009) with Martin Rhodes.
