Dr Mandisi Majavu has a PhD from the University of Auckland, New Zealand. His current research explores the racial politics of the settler colonies of South Africa from the 19th century into the recent past. His research ranges widely across political histories of race in settler societies such as Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa. Majavu’s philosophical research focuses on the question of race, race and science, race and liberalism, race and sport, as well as the critical theorization of anti-blackness in the 21st century. He is author of the book ‘Uncommodified Blackness’ (Palgrave Macmillan, 2017).
