I am a Reader at Birmingham City University. I supervise post-graduate researchers. I am a Board member of EURYLAID and an editorial board member of Infants and Young Children. I am also an external examiner for Bath Spa and Wolverhampton Universities on undergraduate and post-graduate courses related to early childhood, special educational needs and vulnerable learners. I hold a PhD in Early Childhood Intervention and a Post-graduate certificate in special and inclusive education. In 2015 I was awarded a prestigious Winston Churchill Travelling Fellowship to travel to New Zealand to explore Relationship-based early intervention services for children with complex disabilities.
