Xiaomi is having a product launch soon, and tech fans are expecting the company to announce its next fitness band. The product, anticipated to be named Xiaomi Mi Band 6, has been rumored to sport significant upgrades, including support for Amazon Alexa functions and a built-in GPS.
Xiaomi Mi Band 6 design
The Xiaomi Mi Band 6 is expected to feature a similar form factor as its predecessors. However, there have been speculations that the upcoming fitness band could have a bigger display. For reference, the Mi Band 5 sports a 1.1-inch AMOLED display with 126 x 29 resolution.
Meanwhile, Xiaomi is also expected to continue to design the Mi Band 6 with interchangeable straps. However, if the upcoming product would have a bigger display, there is a chance that it might not support straps for older models.
Xiaomi Mi Band 6 specs, features
Some of the earliest information about the Mi Band 6 specs and features were reported back in January after the well-known leaker Magical Unicorn found a potential reference to an unannounced product codenamed “Pangu.” The source also mentioned two model numbers, XMSH16HM and XMSH15HM, that are reportedly pertaining to the fitness band’s Chinese and global versions, respectively. From the same source, the fitness band’s model for the Chinese market is anticipated to launch with NFC support.
The app code also revealed menu options that hint at Xiaomi Mi Band 6’s possible new features. In the lineup of menu options, a reference is made to Amazon Alexa functions as well as SpO2 — both features that were not available in the Mi Band 5.
Another significant upgrade, based on the same Mi Band 6, the source is new 19 workout modes in addition to the 11 exercises that were featured in Mi Band 5. The same leak cited indoor fitness, indoor ice skating, HIIT, core training, stretching, stepper, gymnastics, pilates, street dance, dance, Zumba, cricket, bowling, basketball, volleyball, table tennis, badminton, boxing, and kickboxing.
