Xbox Game Pass is adding several titles, including the upcoming “Knockout City,” this month. However, its catalog is also losing some very popular games, including two “Kingdom Hearts” collections.
These ‘Kingdom Hearts’ games are leaving Xbox Game Pass soon
Microsoft’s paid gaming service has been one of the best ways for new video game fans to check out old titles from popular franchises without the need to purchase them. That was the case when Xbox announced last June that Square Enix’s “Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 Remix” and “Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue” were joining the Game Pass Console library.
However, the nature of third-party titles being added to services like Xbox Game Pass is that they will eventually leave the catalog. And Xbox confirmed in a blog post on Tuesday that the mentioned “Kingdom Hearts” collections will be removed by the end of the month.
Xbox Game Pass Console subscribers will have until May 30 to play the nine games included in these bundles. The list of titles includes “KH Final Mix,” “KH Re:Chain of Memories,” “KH 358/2 Days,” “KH 2 Final Mix,” “KH Birth by Sleep Final Mix,” “KH Re:coded,” “KH Dream Drop Distance HD,” “KH 0.2: Birth by Sleep - A Fragmentary Passage,” and “KH χ Back Cover.”
Xbox Game Pass subscribers will have until May 31 to access these games. That should be ample time to play as much as they can so they could further dive into the rich narrative of the franchise. It should come in handy when they decide to play “Kingdom Hearts 3,” which will remain in Game Pass, unlike its predecessors. Other games leaving Xbox Game Pass on May 30 are “Assetto Corsa,” “Broforce,” “Surviving Mars,” and “Void Bastards.”
EA’s ‘Knockout City’ goes live on Xbox Game Pass at launch
On the plus side, there is a slew of other games to be added to Xbox Game Pass in the coming days, including the all-new title “Knockout City” through EA Play. The dodgeball-themed action game will launch on May 21 and will be available through the subscription services on the same day.
Since “Knockout City” is being added to Xbox Game Pass via EA Play, it means fans with Ultimate tier subscription are the ones getting the game for free. But it will also release on PC, PS4, PS5, and Nintendo Switch.
