Rejoice 'Vikings' fans all over the world for the Irish- Canadian historical drama TV series that we love is renewed and extended for its fourth season which is set to premiere on the 18th of February 2016.
As you all can read in the title, I am going to dish out some juicy infos about the TV series' new season, so all you spoiler haters out there, this article is not for you.
With all good news comes bad news afterwards. And 'Vikings' has its share of that part. It was discovered that Travis Fimmel who plays King Ragnar will leave the show, not abruptly as it was first reported though, to focus more on a movie. It is still unknown as to what would be the cause of his death, whether it be a natural death, killed by his son, or by an illness.
As for the plot, there was a major turn in the storyline in which Ragnar returns home from a Paris seige with a new love interest, a Chinese slave which will be played by Chinese actress Diane Doan, according to a post from Master Herald. Meanwhile, with the upcoming departure and absence of King Ragnor, it is expected that the spotlight will be focused more on the king's family members. Alexander Ludwig who plays Ragnor's son Bjorn, is shown sporting a more adult look in a picture he posted on his Instagram account. This could mean a major role for him, the new ruler of Denmark perhaps.
With the seat being empty, many are eyeing for the crown and Ragnor's brother King Rognvaldsson Rollo is not an exception to the list. It was shown in Season 3 how he so easily betrayed his brother in exchange for lands, riches, and marriage and this could be a precedent to what he might do just so he could take the crown, which could also mean a possible feud between the two brothers in the upcoming season.
The queen of Denmark, having left in charge of the kingdom, could also be after the throne as she was seen reluctant to let go of the power vested upon her when the king left for Kattegat.
There are so many exciting things to watch out for in 'Vikings'. Stay tuned for more updates!
