‘Vikings’ season 4’s episode 14, titled “In the Uncertain Hour Before the Morning,” is set to feature Lagertha as she threatens Aslaug with a vengeful uprising to take back Kattegat.
The brief synopsis for episode 14 posted on Cartermatt reads, “Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick) is near realizing a long-held ambition; Ragnar (Travis Fimmel) acquires a surprising concession from King Ecbert (Linus Roache).”
It seems that the shieldmaiden Lagertha will finally take her revenge against her husband’s other wife Aslaug (Alyssa Sutherland) as the two are seen in a confrontation in the incoming episode’s promo. Lagertha challenges Aslaug saying, “You’re a witch.” Aslaug replies cooly, “I didn’t take your husband. He chose to be with me.”
Lagertha, refusing to back down, says that she plans to reclaim her home. Aslaug throws down a sword and declares, “You shall have your hearth and home.”
In the preceding episode, titled “Two Journeys," Lagertha vowed to take Kattegat back as she watched her army of shield maidens preparing for an imminent battle. According to the recap on Entertainment Weekly, Lagertha insisted that her enemy Aslaug wasn’t fit to rule as queen. She then met with Torvi (Georgia Hirst) to strategize an uprising.
Meanwhile, the episode will also follow Ragnar and his son Ivar the Boneless (Alex Hogh) after they surrendered themselves to King Ecbert following the slaughter of a raiding group. The promo showed Ecbert and Ragnar coming face to face.
Ecbert tells him, “Why have you taken so long to return?” Ragnar tells him from inside an iron cage, “It’s part of a larger and bolder strategy.” Ecbert then unlocks the cage and lets Ragnar out all the while declaring that the latter was the most “dangerous man on this earth.”
‘Vikings’ season 4’s episode 14, titled “In the Uncertain Hour Before the Morning,” is scheduled to air on History on December 21, 2016. It will be followed by episode 13, titled "All His Angels," scheduled for December 28.
