The Queen of the Smize is back on “America’s Next Top Model.” Tyra Banks is reportedly returning to the reality show. Vanity Fair said Banks will be taking on the role briefly filled in by singer Rita Ora.
Executive producer Ken Mok said in a statement, “Tyra has always been the heart and soul of the franchise, and her absence was deeply felt by our fiercely loyal fans who missed their Queen of the Smize. We’d like to thank Rita Ora for being a great partner and total pro. She infused this new iteration of ANTM with passion and creativity and we wish her nothing but the best in her future endeavors."
Banks also tweeted her ecstasy with the news, saying, “I missed my ANTM baby so Mama's back! #ANTM #ANTM24.”
CNN said Ora will of course, step down. Aside from hosting duties, Banks will continue to serve as an executive producer for the show.
But if there’s one thing that Jezebel observed, there is no bad blood between Ora and Banks. Bobby Finger for the site also deduced that maybe the singer wanted to be removed from the gig in the first place probably because she has music to release.
Ora tweeted with some love and music emojis, “Love to you all for amazing ride! Cannot wait for you all to hear my new music.”
On the other hand, it is not made known whether “America’s Next Top Model” will retain newer judges, supermodel Ashley Graham, image architect Law Roach, and Creative Director of Paper magazine Drew Elliot. Buzzfeed said the announcement will also announce “additional panelists” at a later date.
