‘Transformers: The Last Knight’ director Michael Bay recently shared new photographs from the filming set. Meanwhile, Tyrese Gibson is officially returning to the franchise to reprise his role as Sergeant Epps from the original trilogy.
Bay recently shared new behind-the-scenes photographs of his upcoming fifth installment in the highly-popular ‘Transformers’ cinematic series based on Hasbro’s toy line of the same name. The new images posted on Empire Online were taken by Andrew Cooper. These featured scenes typical of Bay’s signature filmmaking style – tons of explosions.
One photograph showed vehicles flipped and suspended in mid-air and captioned, “Creating Some Wicked Action in 116 Degree Weather.” The second featured a landscape rampaged by blast with rubble strewn everywhere.
The upcoming film is said to be Bay’s final directorial run in the franchise. It will feature the return of Mark Wahlberg as the main human protagonist Cade Yeager. Wahlberg took over the lead role in Bay’s ‘Transformers: Age of Extinction’, replacing former franchise star Shia LaBeouf.
The 2014 film grossed $1.1 billion worldwide against a $210 billion production budget, according to Box Office Mojo. It became the second highest-grossing film in the series, right after 2011’s ‘Transformers: Dark of the Moon’.
Other members of the new cast include Laura Haddock, Anthony Hopkins, Isabela Moner, Josh Duhamel, and Santiago Cabrera. Peter Cullen returns to voice Optimus Prime while Frank Welker is set to voice his arch nemesis Megatron.
According to Coming Soon, Tyrese Gibson will also reprise his role as Sergeant Robert Epps. Gibson appeared in three films in the series namely ‘Transformers’, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen’, and ‘Transformers: Dark of the Moon’. Epps is a chief master sergeant in the U.S. Air Force, under the command of Duhamel’s US Army Ranger William Lennox.
‘Transformers: The Last Knight’ is an upcoming action-adventure and science-fiction film directed by Michael Bay. It is produced by Paramount Pictures and Hasbro. It is scheduled to be released on June 23, 2017.
