Now that “The Walking Dead” Season 9 Episode 9 is nearing its date, AMC is ramping up the promotional campaign for the post-apocalyptic drama. The network recently released yet another teaser trailer for the second half of the ninth installment, Comicbook reported.
In it, Alpha (Samantha Morton) delivers a chilling warning to the protagonists. “Your people crossed into our land. Your people killed our people. There will be conflict. I am Alpha,” the antagonist announced. One of the things that would spur the war between the people of Alexandria and The Whisperers is the capture of Lydia (Cassady McClincy) in “The Walking Dead” Season 9 Episode 9.
For the unaware, Lydia is Alpha’s daughter and numbers among the group that attacked Michonne’s party. The midseason finale saw Jesus (Tom Payne) already falling to the viciousness of The Whisperers, Den of Geek reported. But since the protagonists already have an idea what they’re dealing with, they’re going to strike back in “The Walking Dead” Season 9 Episode 9.
With brutal efficiency, the heroes began to drop the Walkers surrounding them, along with those pretending to be a living corpse. With all her comrades dead, Lydia will have no choice but to reveal herself, resulting in her capture and imprisonment over at Alexandria. The short footage for “The Walking Dead” Season 9 Episode 9 already provided a glimpse of this as Lydia can be seen riding atop a horse, blindfolded and being escorted by the protagonists.
In the comics, Lydia formed a bond with Carl (Chandler Riggs). But since Carl is no longer in the series, it’s expected that the showrunners will have Henry (Macsen Lintz) taking his place. This makes sense since Henry and Carl are just about the same age. He’s also in prison at the moment. With Lydia being a captive herself, it’s safe to assume that both characters will be housed next or near each other. As for the release date of “The Walking Dead” Season 9 Episode 9, it’s slated to air on Feb. 10.
